A recent Strategy Analytics benchmark study concludes that users find Windows Mobile Pocket Outlook to be the easiest mobile email client to configure for a POP3 email account. The Strategy Analytics Wireless Device Lab conducted end user benchmark tests with Windows Mobile Outlook, BlackBerry BIS, Nokia S60, and UIQ v3.0 email clients. The benchmark test results also point to the value of incorporating an on-device wizard.

Oh, there's a lot to like in the new version of Windows Mobile but the one feature I love is the ability to simply delete emails with one click. It's something the Treo has had for some time and when you're doing email triage, the click to open a menu and click to delete grows old fast. Yes, there's a lot of other good stuff in there but this is my favorite feature. I know it's been a pet peeve of as well, be interesting to see Walt's take on some of the new Windows Mobile 6 based devices that are coming to market.

It appears AT&T (the new Cingular) will be offering a new BlackBerry style Windows Mobile device. The AT&T SMT5700 is a device of similar style to the BlackJack offered by Cingular. It offers Windows Mobile 5.0, microSD, and has EDGE support. The QWERTY keyboard has a similar style to the BlackJack. AT&T has not announced a release date or price.

I'm pleased to say that the Windows Mobile 6 SDKs went live today as planned. You can download the SDK for touchscreen (Windows Mobile Professional) and non-touchscreen (Windows Mobile Standard) .
Using the Windows Mobile 6 SDK you can test your application using the emulators in the Windows Mobile 6 SDKs. The SDKs together with Visual Studio 2005 mean you have everything you need to build and test applications for both Windows Mobile 5.0 and Windows Mobile 6. Read the ?????? guide to learn why your Windows Mobile 5.0 application should work on Windows Mobile 6, what to expect from new screen resolutions and why Windows Mobile 6 makes it easier to build and deploy Line of Business applications.
Don't forget that around May 1st we'll release the Windows Mobile 6 SDK Refresh featuring new documentation, the latest emulators, support for basic AJAX applications and links to Line of Business frameworks, samples and documentation.

just been reading - looks like the Windows Mobile 6 SDKs are available to download.
Note that the naming of Windows Mobile devices has changed - previously Windows Mobile devices were known as "Pocket PC" and "Smartphone", the new naming is "Professional" (used to be Pocket PC) and "Standard" (used to be Smartphone).
