Cingular Wireless has expanded its cellular tower footprint around Columbus to fill in gaps and improve service.
The company's regional office in Atlanta said 14 new cell sites have been added on stretches of highway that include routes between Columbus and the communities of Albany and Fort Valley. Georgia highways 520 and 96 and U.S. highways 80 and 280 gained towers.
