I eventually did not find my cellphone and I spent some time last night researching on the latest phones. I was considering the Treo or Nokia R61, but looks like I'll just go in for my old phone - MotoRazr V3i
So last night I had this funny dream. I was at this photo expo and I was at the Nikon stall. They were showing off this new Treo handheld which could connect to the Nikon D200 and do all kinda fancy stuff. It could operate the camera via the Wifi adapter and you could control the whole camera remotely. It even had features like photo transfer and even a instant upload to flickr.
It went further. I could setup the treo IR port to work with my camera IR port and make it an instant camera trap which would click when someone cut the beam. Heck, I remember the Treo having some photo editing software like photoshop. The treo had a GPS adapter which would also geocode every photo from the camera.
Thought its a funny dream, I'm sure treo can actually hack up a version for photographers and I'm sure it will be a killer product.

AT&T recently announced that the Dark-ruby Blackberry Pearl and Palm Treo 680 will be part of its line-up. While the Dark-ruby Blackberry Pearl will be available nationwide in all stores, the Treo 680 will initially only be available at select outlets.
The red BlackBerry Pearl comes with a built-in 1.3 megapixel digital camera, multimedia capabilities, expandable memory, as well as email and web browsing applications. The Palm Treo 680 also features a digital camera with video recording capability, music and video media player, email and sms applications. Both are priced at $199.99 with a 2-year contract.

Palm is planning to address the recently disclosed Treo security vulnerability with ROM updates for the Cingular Treo 680 and the Verizon and Sprint Treo 700p. A Palm official has confirmed with PalmInfocenter that there are no plans at this time for a security update for the Treo 650 or unlocked models. Palm is "investigating" an update for these devices, but does not have anything on the roadmap at this time.

Hot on the heels of Seidio's extended Treo 680/750 batteries comes a new option from Boxwave. Similar to the Seidio units, this 2400mAh lithium ion unit requires a (supplied) replacement battery door in order to fit the Treo properly. Currently, these replacement covers are only available in Graphite - bad news for both colored 680 and 750 owners, who will be stuck with mismatched colors. However, at $1 cheaper than the Seidio model, it's worth a look for bargain hunters.
