3G-less LG KE500 unveiled

The recently concluded 3GSM World Conference saw a bevy of beauties being launched, but unfortunately the LG KE500 isn't one of them. This handset does not come with 3G connectivity, relying on EDGE instead for your mobile data needs. Features of this handset include a 2" 256k color LCD display, a wide range of support for audio and video formats, a microSD memory card slot, and internal speakers that offer pretty good quality sound. In addition, you also get a 2 megapixel camera with flash, Bluetooth 2.0, and a built-in FM radio. Pricing and availability details are unknown, although the KE500 most probably won't make it to the U.S. as it does not support GSM 850.

Well, considering that we've already seen the Prada's UI in action (narrated by Super Mario himself), maybe not, but the BusinessWeek says that WiMo6 will power LG phones that use touch screens. More info will on this marriage will surface at the 3GSM conference next week. Like we said before, Prada could kill some time before Apple's wunderphone comes out in June.

The LG CU400 is a speedy and attractive cell phone with access to high-speed 3G content, such as Cingular Video, and cool mobile applications like XM Radio Mobile and MySpace Mobile. While we liked its push-to-talk features and its quad-band capabilities, we were ultimately disappointed with the poor quality of its VGA camera and the lack of a dedicated audio player.

From what I can gather, it does run Windows Mobile 6, ARM's processor, has about 93.85 MB of memory free, and sports HSDPA / HSUPA. The label says advertises that a 5Mbytes MP3 file can be downloaded in 6 seconds. Uploading a 1MByte image takes about 5 seconds. Gaming is real time, super fast web browsing, VoIP, and interactive IPTV!"

Now, My iPhone has some photos from 3GSM of what may be an LG Prada, but running Windows Mobile 6. Though I'm looking forward to the OS, I'm not sure the phone design grabs me. What do you think?
